Worth knowing
We visit a selection of restaurants in Méribel and the Three Valleys each year. You can read about our first hand experience in our Restaurant Reviews.
Breakfast and brunch
In Méribel centre you'll find hot breakfast rolls or cooked platters, and you'll even find cooked English breakfasts, egg butties, bagels and porridge if that's what you're after.
Cafes and bakeries
As in any French town you're never far from a bakery, so if you just fancy a café and croissant, pick up a patisserie from the boulangerie. Cafés are generally very happy for you to bring in your own as long as you order a drink.
Whether you're in the centre of Méribel, at the foot of the pistes or in the Village, you'll find a café with a terrace where you can enjoy the view alongside an array of delicious pastries and cakes.
Child friendly restaurants
Most, if not all of the restaurants in resort are child friendly, especially if you let them know in advance. Evening meals are normally served from 19:00, and the restaurants are quieter at this time than later on.
French restaurants
Throughout resort you'll easily find a French restaurant to suit both your taste buds and your budget, whether it's homemade Savoyarde specials in a cosy rustic bolthole, or a light airy modern gourmet experience with a wine list and dessert menu to die for.
Italian and pizza restaurants
Like most places you don't have to look far to find a good pizza restaurant, and many of the local French restaurants also do good pizza and pasta.
Michelin starred restaurants
Méribel has many excellent restaurants but only one of them bears the coveted Michelin star...and if you can't get a table there are a number of restaurants delivering exceptionally well-thought out menus, and a wine list and dessert menu to die for.
Modern European and international restaurants
Fashionable modern airy interiors that offer international à la carte and set menus for lunch or dinner are not in short supply here, so take your pick.
Seafood restaurants
Whilst you're not in a seaside town, you'll find in Méribel there are some menus that have a decent offering of seafood with lobsters, crabs, oysters, whelks and a choice of seafood platters that wouldn't look out of place on the French Riviera.
Sushi restaurants
For those of you needing your sushi fix, there are a couple of spots in town where you'll find either Japanese options on the menu or a dedicated evening per week.
Takeaway restaurants
From Méribel to Mottaret there is a wide choice of takeaway joints, offering pizzas, burgers, chips, and all the usual fare.
Vegetarian restaurants
Although French cuisine isn't renowned for being particularly veggie friendly there are a number of restaurants in town that serve vegetarian options.
